Networks
Last month we had 73 new network sign-ups and 13 network meetings. This included our National Sponsee Network meeting where Sponsees on The Sponsorship Programme got the chance to hear from Chris Harrop, Managing Director at MIAA as he delivered a session on the benefits of coaching – thank you Chris! The Inclusion and Diversity Ambassadors had the opportunity to attend our event specifically aimed at them on how to actively advocate as an I&D Ambassador, this session was delivered by Bernadette Thompson OBE, a strategic and progressive HR professional, with a depth of knowledge and expertise in diversity and inclusion. This month members of the Finance Leaders Network had the opportunity to hear from Simon Worthington, Finance Director at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and FFF Programme Chair. Simon has thirty-four years’ experience in NHS Finance and with his varied experience this was an interesting and engaging conversation. Programmes
With the recent NHS Staff Survey results being published Future-Focused Finance continued to share its Staff Survey Resource Pack, this is useful in identifying areas for improvement but also give you some tools and ideas on how to make positive changes to improve staff experiences in the workplace.
Interviews have been conducted with NHS staff who have successfully moved between NHS sectors, read Wonu Ogunlela, Head of PMO at Epsom And St. Helier University Hospitals career story here.
A 2023 update was published on the National NHS Finance Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan to include updated and refreshed actions added in. Resources to help with the objectives outlined in the EDI Action Plan were spotlight these included; Parental Leave Guidance and Flexible Working in the NHS.
The interviews for the National Finance Leaders Talent Pool have been taking place over the past month. We’re looking forward to welcoming the successful applicants to the Development Centre in June.
The Innovation Development Board was launched, this is part of the Forum’s Innovation Programme. Comprising experienced finance professionals, the Board manages, develops, scales, and launches NHS finance innovations. If you have an NHS finance innovation, idea, or problem that you believe could benefit the wider NHS, we encourage you to submit it to the Innovation board! Find out more here.
