Networks
A quick update on our networks: due to ongoing capacity challenges, we won’t be able to continue the National Rainbow, Cultural Diversity and National Disabilities networks in their current national format. To keep inclusion and allyship at the heart of what we do, we’re shifting this focus into the regional Inclusion & Diversity Ambassador networks. LGBTQIA+, cultural diversity and disability will now be standing agenda items in each region, allowing for more local, meaningful conversations and action. We’ll still be supporting things like showcase sessions, resources and awareness‑raising. Thank you so much for everything you’ve put into these networks. We hope you’ll stay involved through your regional I&D Ambassador groups and keep championing this work.
Last month, we held 14 network meetings and events, which included an inspiring session of stories, achievements, and insights as part of LGBT+ History Month – thank you to all our wonderful speakers! Recognising LGBT+ History Month is one of the ways we pause to reflect on how our behaviours, language and culture impact each other. Watch back on this session and discover more about our Inclusion & Diversity LGBTQIA+ Hub here.
This month, on March 8th, it is International Women’s Day. To celebrate, we’re running an inspiring panel session spotlighting women from across NHS finance as they share their career journeys on March 3rd, 14:00 – 15:00. Register here: International Women’s Day: Advancing Women in Finance.
We have another EDI session taking place on March 3rd, 11:00 – 12:00, join colleagues from Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to explore their EDI Celebration Day – an initiative designed to recognise diversity, create meaningful conversations and embed inclusion into everyday working life. We need more Mentors! Mentors use their experience and insight to support someone’s professional or personal development. Anyone with relevant experience and a willingness to support others can be a mentor. Effective mentors are good listeners, approachable, open-minded, and confident in their area of expertise. Think this role is for you? Learn more about it here: I’d like to be a Mentor.
