Last month, we held our National Inclusion Conference. Thank you to all our inspirational speakers, who provided lots of valuable insights into neurodiversity and how to support colleagues in the workplace. If you missed the conference, you can watch it back here: https://youtu.be/8-0XlszuNHQ
A FACE (Finance and Clinical Educators) case study has recently been published. Read all about how East Cheshire NHS Trust launched Finance Matters to improve how finance engages with staff across the organisation. The aim was to make finance more visible, more accessible, and more relevant to clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, at a time of increasing financial pressure and competing priorities. This month, we have two upcoming network sessions. On June 16, from 11:00–12:00, join us at the Value Maker National Showcase for a live demonstration of an Integrated Finance Dashboard. Then, on June 29, from 10:00–11:30, attend a FACE showcase to discover how Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS FT’s award-winning finance team delivers essential finance and procurement training, while securing strong clinical buy-in to drive better decision-making across the organisation.
Taking place on June 26, 11:00 – 12:00, is a session which is part of our Wellbeing Webinar Series. This event offers practical strategies to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and build resilience in a world of information overload. The One NHS Finance Annual Review 2025-26 has now been published. We would like to thank everyone who has helped make the programme a success, and we are hugely grateful to all who have volunteered their time through events, networks, programmes, and more. The shared experience, learning and ideas of the community underpin everything ONF does. Read the review here.

We have also just launched a new series of Talent Management workshops. There are sessions designed for colleagues who are managers supporting staff, and sessions for individuals looking to progress with their own development. Our first session takes place on June 29, 10:00 – 11:00 – Talent Management: Career Conversations That Count – A Managers Approach.
We are pleased to confirm that two of our career development programmes are now accepting applications throughout June; The Empowering Women in Leadership Programme supports NHS female finance professionals band 8a and above who would like to progress their careers into more senior roles. The Going Beyond Programme supports senior NHS finance professionals, band 8c and above, in developing the confidence and capabilities required for future board-level promotions.
The Forum is delighted to have published another 5 NHS finance innovations in the library. Access these in the library here: NHS Finance Innovations. Have you recently solved a finance problem? Why not submit it to the national NHS finance innovation programme? Submitting your innovation to the programme could help to inspire and support other finance teams in the NHS, as well as provide you with opportunities for personal and professional growth. This month, we have another Finance Innovation Showcase taking place on June 10, 11:00 – 12:00. Join this session to learn how The South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre aligned consultant job plans with activity and income, improving theatre productivity and reducing avoidable costs. Register here.
We are also continuing with our popular Process Redesign with AI sessions. During the workshop, you will learn how to map your processes and use AI to redesign them to be more efficient. Register for June 17, 12:00 – 13:00 here.
