Networks

June was NHS Pride Month, the Rainbow Network hosted a powerful session on the Importance of Allyship, shedding light on the vital role allies play in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community within the NHS and beyond. This month, on July 9, join the South West Inclusion & Diversity ambassadors to hear about the incredible work they have been doing as a network to advance the EDI agenda in their region – South West I&D Ambassadors Showcase Session.
We have another Health and Wellbeing Webinar taking place on July 16; H&W Webinar: Harnessing the healing power of nature, in this session, Roots will explain the amazing changes that nature has on our brains, our immune system, our emotions, and our behaviour. We already have over 100 bookings for this one!
The next Value Maker Showcase Session is taking place on July 21. Discover the power of anomaly detection and its vital role in enhancing financial efficiency within the NHS: VMAC Showcase Session: Advanced Anomaly Detection in Transactional Finance Data.
Programmes
Last month, we delivered the National Finance Leaders Talent Pool Development Centre in Birmingham, bringing together 12 aspiring Chief Finance Officers. One panel member shared their experience: “It was lovely to sit down with Professor David Sallah and Sanjay Agrawal to discuss pertinent topics on Board dynamics, expectations, and relationships with the aspiring CFO cohort. Very engaging session with all the participants and great facilitation by Jonathan Bowyer. I really enjoyed it!”

Last month, we released a special diversity bulletin that highlighted the role of a Sponsor. In case you missed it, read the newsletter here. This month, we have two training sessions for current and potential Sponsors: Sponsor Training: Expanding your Sponsees Network and Sponsor Training: Sponsorship Vs. Coaching.
We are developing a new bank of resources called ‘Surviving and Thriving’, which is a new initiative designed to support finance teams with the tools, resources, and shared knowledge they need to navigate financial recovery. As part of this, we are seeking any good practices around cash management. If anyone has any TORs for the Cash Committee or Cash Management policies that they would be willing to share for our upcoming resources page, please send them to one.finance@nhs.net – thank you!
The Forum is pleased to publish 23 new NHS finance innovations. We now have 210 published innovations in the library, view them all in the Innovation Library here. The Forum’s new AI Assistants are now live! The Innovation Librarian is a chatbot trained on all 210 peer-reviewed NHS finance innovations in the library. It instantly links the innovations that are the most relevant to your query. Simply describe your problem, and the librarian will guide you to the most useful innovations.
