Networks

Happy New Year! January is a busy event month with lots coming up from our networks. We have our first Value Maker Showcase from VMAC 2024 on January 16, join us to discover the art of the possible when combining the power of Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Excel and Teams in this exploration of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s electronic approval solution.

Beat any January blues by joining our much anticipated Health and Wellbeing Conference on January 21, the agenda features organisational case studies, a session on Building Resilience with Alex Webb and Skye Dean the co-founders of Resilient Women Leaders, and concludes with breathing and relaxation exercises.

We have a FACE showcase on January 23, join to learn how The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System formed a System Costing Team and Costing Hub on inception of the ICB in July 2022, headed up by the Head of Costing and Benchmarking. Also, taking place on January 23 is a one-hour session with Melanie Holloway, D&I Manager and Chair of National Staff Network, NHS England, highlighting the impactful work, events, and activities Melanie and her team have led to support and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community across the NHS. Programmes

Don’t forget that applications close for The National Finance Leaders Talent Pool on Friday, January 3rd.

Last month we re-launched The Mentoring Programme, check out our latest resource document to find out further details about what the programme does and who it is for.

We are pleased to announce that applications for the Career Progressors development programme are now open, supporting band 5 – 7 NHS finance colleagues to take the first steps in leadership development, please apply by January 31.

We are also excited to announce that the UK 4 Nations Exchange programme will be running again, offering NHS professionals a unique opportunity to visit an organisation in another home nation. The exchange is open to career-motivated NHS finance staff at all bands working in organisations across the four nations. It will be run in conjunction with One NHS Finance, the NHS Wales Finance Academy, and HFMA, alongside colleagues in Northern Ireland and Scotland. To apply for the programme, please complete this form, outlining what you hope to gain from the programme and what you can offer someone attending your organisation in exchange. The deadline for applications is 21 February 2025.

Two events focus on the Towards Excellence Accreditation programme this month, one on January 13; Culture Series: UHCW Journey to Level 3 Accreditation and the other on Assessor Training on January 22; Towards Excellence Accreditation Training.
