Networks

Last month we had a break from events and network meetings due to the summer holidays, but we have been gearing up for a busy September.

We recently published a new resource as part of the National Disability Network read the Disability Awareness Dates Calendar here.

This month, Sponsors have the opportunity for training on the 9th, book your place here. The Sponsorship Summit will be held in London on September 26, few places remain for this event and it is open to current Sponsors/Sponsees, or people interested in joining the programme.

Don’t forget to send in your nominations for the Value Maker Annual Awards! Find out all about the 7 award categories and how to submit here, the awards close on September 24 and will be presented at VMAC on November 7.

The first showcase session of our newest network Cultural Diversity Matters takes place this month, Nikhil Khashu, NHSE National Deputy CFO, and Tendai Wileman, Chief of Staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, will discuss their personal and professional journeys, focusing on the challenges they’ve faced and their strategies for overcoming them. Book your place for September 17 here.

We also have a FACE showcase on September 13, hear from Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDASH) who will be showcasing their journey on PLICS & clinical engagement within their organisation.

Programmes

The Breaking Diversity Barriers Programme helps to remove obstacles for Band 7-8B finance professionals, ensuring everyone can achieve their potential, regardless of background. Applications are now open until 30th September.

The National Finance Leaders Talent Pool is now also accepting applications, if you would like to apply for the Talent Pool then you can request the brochure and application form here. Please apply by January 3rd.

During August, the Future-Focused Finance Programme published a range of resources to support staff, these are; A Guide for Good Inductions, NHS Staff Survey 23, learning from different finance departments and Supporting Our Staff Through Organisational Change – we hope these will be helpful and please share within your teams.

This month the Finance Innovation Forum is delivering 3 events; Technical RPA: The good, the bad and the efficient on September 10, with over 200 bookings already, and two interactive innovation showcase sessions. Later this month, all successful NHS finance innovations as part of cohort 9 of the innovation programme will be published, so watch this space!

Lastly, we wish all the new NHS Finance Insights Placement students the best of luck as they start their new roles this month!
