Networking, collaboration and innovation

Providing opportunities for staff to network and share good practice, learning and innovation across organisations in the region.

What’s on offer

The Midlands Finance Academy runs four workstreams which are overseen by the Academy Board, and each area is delivered by a working group of NHS finance volunteers.

The Networking, collaboration and innovation workstream is run through the Midlands Value Maker Network. This group has been focusing on strengthening the Value Maker network and Finance Innovation Forum presence in the Midlands. The group has also been leading on the support for ICSs to run system-wide networking by sourcing and sharing examples of this engagement taking place across the Midlands and in other regions nationally.

In 2025-26 we will be developing a Future Finance Ready Programme, supporting staff to navigate automation and AI and understand their finance department’s digital maturity, so that they are prepared to adapt the make-up of the finance function and thrive in the future of finance.

The Value Maker Network meets quarterly for a 90-minute meeting, and the ask of time and resource from members between meetings is kept to a minimum.

Please sign up as a Value Maker if you are interested in joining.
