Regional Cohort
As the National One NHS Finance team will now running the Going Beyond programme biennially—with the next national cohort scheduled for 2026/27—the London, Midlands, and South West Academies are pleased to be offering an additional regional cohort for 2025/26. This will ensure colleagues across our regions still have the opportunity to take part in the programme this year.
Who is Going Beyond for?
This programme is aimed at staff working at band 8a and above who wish to further their professional development with a view to career progression.
Programme objectives:
- Self awareness & self management
- Understanding personal values
- Successful leadership and effectively chairing meetings
- Imposter syndrome and assertiveness
- Leading and managing change from an EDI perspective
- Managing relationship at a system level
- Conflict resolution
- Career goals and making the most out of your appraisal
The programme includes presentations from CFOs and FDs sharing their experiences on progressing to that level, as well as development sessions that will enable attendees to progress and achieve their career ambitions.

Applications are now closed for 25/26.
Programme delivery:
The programme is delivered through 3 x face to face events in London during the months of October to January (14 October, 12 November and 14 January).
Costs:
Going Beyond is free for all NHS finance staff, however travel and expenses are not included.
