Career Progressors

The Career Progressors programme is suitable for Band 7-8B finance professionals looking to advance. We’ll identify any barriers and develop solutions to secure a senior leadership role

Who is this development programme for?

The Career Developers programme is aimed at Band 7-8b finance staff who are ready to progress into more senior roles but are looking to strengthen certain non-technical skills and overcome specific barriers currently faced to enable them in taking the next step-up.

Objectives of the programme include:

  • Understanding system working and finances role
  • Managing personal stress and wellbeing, supporting staff wellbeing
  • Inclusive leadership development
  • Owning and presenting your authentic self
  • Confidence building
  • Application tips and techniques
  • Interview techniques

The programme focuses on developing non-technical skills and provides a safe space for participants to be open about their experiences and current situation, whilst sharing and giving feedback to others. The programme is a fantastic opportunity for participants to widen their knowledge and experience in the areas they want to develop and in meeting like-minded colleagues from across the country.

Application process

Applications are submitted via an online form where you will be expected to provide a short personal statement (no more than 500 words) about who you are and your story so far, where you want to get to in your career, and the barriers you have identified that you want to explore and overcome in this programme.

Programme delivery

The programme will be delivered in-person. Sessions will include a variety of training and development modules that are interactive, discussion-led, and sometimes challenging and uncomfortable; as will push participants out of their comfort zones to help them dig deeper into the detail of what it is they need to overcome to help their career progression.

North Cohort: 10th May, Leeds. 7th June, Liverpool. 12th July, Manchester.
