Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Creating an inclusive environment where all colleagues thrive and reach their full potential, whatever their identity or background.

What’s on offer

The Midlands Finance Academy runs four workstreams which are overseen by the Academy Board, and each area is delivered by a working group of NHS finance volunteers.

The Equality, diversity and inclusion workstream is run through the Midlands Inclusion and Diversity Ambassadors. This group has been focusing on increasing the I&D Ambassador network, supporting the national Sponsorship Programme, running a series of EDI Matters sessions and launching a Return to Work Programme for staff returning from parental leave.

In 2025-26 we are working on an EDI roundtable event, a mentoring service with local universities for ethnic minority students, and a research exercise on EDI progress in the Midlands.

The group meets quarterly for a 90-minute meeting, and the ask of time and resource from members between meetings is kept to a minimum.

Please sign up as an Inclusion and Diversity Ambassador if you are interested in joining.
