Parental Leave: guidance for line managers
Guidance and resources to help line managers support staff members on parental leave.
As a Line Manager, when a member of staff arrives at your door with the joyful news that they are expecting an addition to the family, the happiness can be followed with worry. This can be due to a variety of reasons such as the pressure to understand and navigate up to date HR and employment law, knowing how to support the individual appropriately and in the best possible way, and knowing how best to support them when returning to work.
Working with nhs finance volunteers, the National Finance Academy has created resources and guidance to support line managers whilst their staff are on parental leave to help ensure their experience is the best that it can be for them and for the family concerned.
