The Career Developers programme will be delivered from September 2022, and is aimed at Band 5-6 finance staff who want to develop and build on their current skills and experience to support them in progressing into leadership roles in the near future.

Objectives of the programme include:

  •  Starting leadership
  • Knowing the business
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians
  • How to have difficult conversations
  • Building your networks and how to use them for progression
  • Understanding your barriers to progression and how to overcome these
  • Presentation techniques
  • Getting the most out of sponsorship

The programme focuses on developing non-technical skills and provides a safe space for participants to be open about their experiences and current situation, whilst sharing and giving feedback to others. The programme is a fantastic opportunity for participants to widen their knowledge and experience in the areas they want to develop and in meeting like-minded colleagues from across the country.

Application process:

Applications are submitted via an online form where you will be expected to provide a short personal statement (no more than 500 words) about who you are, your story so far, and where you want to get to in your career – specifying why this programme may help you to do this.

Apply by 5pm Monday 7 March 2022 for this year’s cohort.

Delivery of the programme:

The programme will be delivered in-person from September – November 2022, through a variety of training and development modules that are interactive, discussion-led, and help push boundaries to get participants out of their comfort zones; enabling them to build the confidence to take the next step-up in their careers.
