A new inclusive talent management strategy and model were recently developed by and for the NHS finance community, with a launch in the summer of 2023. This interactive and facilitated workshop aims to bring together NHS finance line managers, senior finance staff, and colleagues seeking development through the talent management process to learn about and understand the developed model and how to use it in practice.

Due to the workshop's interactive nature, participation is limited to 25 individuals per session. We encourage a diverse representation from all seven NHS regions to foster a comprehensive discussion and exchange of insights.
We will be delivering additional workshops in February and March 2024. If you are unable to attend on this date or if places become full, please register for these alternate dates instead.
This session will be particularly beneficial for line managers, aiding their understanding of the distinction between appraisals and talent conversations. It will guide them on how to facilitate these discussions using the outlined model and subsequently integrate this information into senior management conversations regarding talent pipelines within their systems and local regions.
The aim of the strategy is to ensure that every member of the finance community receives a dedicated talent conversation annually, providing opportunities for growth, development, and stretching, aligning with successful models in both the private sector and the NHS (specifically, the Leadership Academy’s 'Scope for growth' model). The workshop will feature peer discussions via breakout sessions and exercises, facilitating the internalisation of the process. Attendees can then apply these learnings within their own teams.
